Phillipow asked:

I'm looking to purchase a used acoustic electric guitar. Should I get the Gibson Hummingbird Artist Series or the Taylor 314ce Grand Auditorium?

If you are going to spend that much money on an acoustic guitar, then you should also take a look at Guilds and Martins while you’re out shopping around. I was in the same situation as you last year and took my time looking at Taylor, Martin and Takamine guitars to start with. Then the guy at the mucis store told me to look at some Guilds and I ended up buying the Guild D55.

I would definitely select the 314CE Taylor. I like how Gibsons play and the Hummingbird is a nice acoustic guitar, but I really appreciate the nice fingerboards of Taylor guitars.

I personally don’t think that Gibson acoustics are worth the money. They have the same feel and tone as a lot of other guitars that you can get for less, and sometimes a lot less.

Taylors are a little on the expensive side, but they are worth the extra money bacause of the quality, playability and sound. If you are concerned about the cost of a Taylor, look on eBay for a used one.

Gibson makes great electric guitars, but Taylor beats them in acoustic and acoustic electrics.
