Takamine Co., Ltd. is a Japanese manufacturer of guitars and introduced the acoustic electric guitar with a preamp and equalizer. The Takamine Company was founded in 1962 and has over 45 years providing innovative guitar designs. Takamine Guitars are preferred by some of the top guitarists in the world.
Although other guitar manufacturers began to offer acoustic electric guitar models, none has taken to implementing it in an acoustic guitar because it's an integral part of the acoustic guitar's design, and is not simply an added feature to an existing acoustic guitar design.
