The Ovation Guitar Company produced its' first guitar in 1966 and is part of Kaman Music Corporation. Kaman Corporation is the parent company and was founded by Charles Kaman, an aeronautical engineer. Their principle products are acoustic guitars and are characterized by the use of composite materials on their backs and sides (while retaining a solid wood soundboard and a rounded shape. Their manufacturing facilities are located in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
