The Breedlove Guitar Company was formed in 1990 when Larry Breedlove left Taylor Guitars and started his own company. In 1994 Kim Breedlove, who at that point had designed several stringed instruments, joins Breedlove Guitars in Bend, Oregon and soon after Larry returns to Taylor. Breedlove Guitars then strengthens its' management and marketing teams and develops innovative technologies that are incorporated into their expanded guitar line.
